You Never Going to Bring Me Down
As you seeing more money, Its more problems
Everytime I look around, They say I'm not hungry and I lost them
But you never gonna, ever gonna, ever gonna bring me down
Their is a big difference between "hold you down" and "bring you down". I am dreamer so sometimes I fly into outer space, so I need good friends to serve as anchors hence the term "hold you down". Friends "hold you down" when you don't believe in yourself or if your just down on your luck at the time. But then on the flip-side there are the HATERS who try to "bring you down". I don't really know what causes people to Hate, but from my experiences it usually has to deal with some type of jealousy and sometimes people are just unhappy with their current situation and they try to "bring you down." Stay clear of those people and surround yourself around people that will always HOLD YOU DOWN. The name of the track that inspired this post is Bring you Down by Mike Posner ft. Big Sean & Freddie Gibbs. I love the hook its like my new anthem. It also related to my life because I kind of was slacking on my t-shirt game and my promo game but i have some stuff in store for you, hopefully literally. Also if you are in the Cincinnati area this weekend go support my homies DJ Clockwork and Buggs tha Rocka at Mike Posner show at Play by Play.
Couch Surfing Cowabunga Dude
I remember when I first heard the term on twitter. I knew exactly what the person was talking about but this is the first image that popped in my head. Couch Surfing usually takes a place at a club when a group of people buy a VIP section that usually includes some couch or some type of furniture made for sitting. LOL i sound like the Urban dictionary. In the midst of enjoying yourself and buying bottles people usually end up standing on top of the couches and before you know it your Couch Surfing. I love the term. I have never Couch Surfed, yeah I know huge fail for me. I am always on the other end of the transaction. I am usually the one collecting the money from the potential "Couch Surfer", but the next time I go out of town with my friends best believe I'm going to give it try. Hopefully I am with an experienced Couch Surfers would want to drown.
Jordan Couture ?
So earlier I made a post about how sneaker companies were taking inspiration from casual/dress shoe companies. Now the tables are turned. I am not really sure if Android Homme drew their inspiration for their current shoe from the Jordan XII's but I have some pics that can make a good argument. I'll let you be the judge.

MICK BOOGIE & TERRY URBAN PUT THE OH IN OHIO
SUCKA 4 LOVE: How long have you been DJ’ing?
MICK BOOGIE: A long time. Lol. Since like 97 for fun. Since like 2001 as a career.
TERRY URBAN: Too long.
SUCKA 4 LOVE: What spurred your interest?
MICK BOOGIE: Listening to people like Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, DJ Premier, and Funkmaster Flex.
TERRY URBAN: The X-Men dj crew.
SUCKA 4 LOVE: What’s your take on love (not necessarily intimate) and music?
MICK BOOGIE: There is a deep connection. Music, in and of itself, is an emotional art. Or rather, it should be. So the connections between it and the human emotional core run deep.
TERRY URBAN: They're the same thing to me. I give each one of these the upmost respect.
SUCKA 4 LOVE: We’re suckas 4 love what are some things you’re a sucka for?
MICK BOOGIE: Chipotle. Comic Books. Sneakers. Frequent Flier Miles.
TERRY URBAN: Fashion, art, chocolate and skateboarding
SUCKA 4 LOVE: When’s the last time you were in love – with anything?
MICK BOOGIE: Every day. Happily married to my wife Rana.
TERRY URBAN: Living in NYC you fall in love everyday with something new. There's so much inspiration out here. I find myself saying everyday "OMG I love this!"
SUCKA 4 LOVE: Although you currently reside in New York City, how do you feel you put the “OH” in Ohio?
MICK BOOGIE: I know Ohio made me say "oh shit" a few times. Lol. But when I lived there, and when I return to visit, it's always fun to give it your all creatively and make sure Ohio is continuing to rise.
TERRY URBAN: I feel Mick Boogie and I have put the Oh in Ohio as far as Cleveland is concerned. We still give back to Ohio even though we live in NYC. For instance our new mixtape coming out with Cle's own Chip Tha Ripper and we still maintain monthly parties in Cleveland.
SUCKA 4 LOVE: If you had to make a mix-tape for your girlfriend, what would be the top five songs?
MICK BOOGIE: I actually proposed to my wife via a sequenced mixtape, so I kinda have to keep the songs secret. But it was dope.
TERRY URBAN: Mint Condition-Pretty Brown Eyes
The Isley Brothers-Living For The Love Of You
The Gap Band-Yearing For Your Love
Chaka Khan-Sweet Thing
Ludacris-Pussy Poppin
I definitely feel where Mick Boogie is coming from with the "OH SHIT" line but after being here for 6 year I can say Ohio has definitely grown on me and I love Ohio. I hope my DC friends don't try to revoke my DC card. LOL. That mixtape that he used to proposed to his wife is definitely a great example of the deep connection between love and music. I am currently looking for that mixtape right now. I once made a t-shirt for a girl I was dating as a birthday present. Maybe I'll ask my next girlfriend to be my girl via t-shirt. Something simple like the old school "Will you be my girlfriend" with the yes, no and maybe box. Enough about me, Mick Boogie's and Terry Urban's latest project is a collaboration with Lemar and Dauley titled "Le Da Soul-20 years of De La Soul" and which dropped November 25, 2009. You can also check them out at The Press Play Show.

85% of communication is non verbal
85% of communication is non-verbal. Yeah that's because it's all done via thumbs, and no, I'm not talking about sign language. Emails, text messages, instant messages, and even twitter are the new forms of communication. Not to mention, since the rapid increase in phone technology we have access to all of this in one device. I feel like I'm old even talking about this. I remember when my mom said no one writes letters anymore, but now I see what she meant. Writing letters helped her with her penmanship as well as her English. A piece of paper doesn't have spell and grammar check, so she was more cautious of what she wrote to ensure that her message was clear. Verbal communication is rapidly becoming a dead language. It seems like people don't know how to talk to one another anymore. The downfall of the convenience of "thumb communication" is that sometimes words can be taken out of context. I used to be so pro writing an email vs. talking on the phone (especially in an argument because I could sit down and think my thoughts out), but now I hate having meaningful conversations that are not face-to-face. Call me old fashioned, but I'd still rather talk on the phone than text, and I'd definitely rather have a heart-to-heart conversation face-to-face than via text message.

The North Face x COMME des GARCONS Junya Watanabe MAN Down Vest
I try not to repost what other sites post but this vest just stood out to me. I guess its just my DC state of mind. Growing up North Face has always been a part of my life and dc culture. Everyone was always looking for the most exclusive North Face. North Face is known for its durability. I been rocking the same North Face backpack since 04. My favorite current North Face piece is my steep tech hoodie. Now you take the durability of North Face and add high end COMME des GARCON design. Its like a match made in heaven. This will definitely be on my christmas wish list.

2012
Yesterday I went to go see 2012. It had all the characteristics of an "end of the world" movie. Political cover-ups, crazy conspiracy theorist (who actually know what they are talking about), and then you have the family that isn't quite a family but through disaster they come together as one. Yeah the premise of the movie was good in my opinion but there were a couple of scenes in the movie that were just a little too unreak. My favorite quote from the movie is "when we stop helping each other is when we lose our humanity"; forgive me if it’s not the direct quote I didn't go to the movies with pen and pad. Three things I learned from the movie 1, Life is short, 2, If you love someone make sure you tell them, 3, Bob you have to get a Bentley in the famous words of my old friend Yuri "Everyone shut up...Engine Start" (Russian accent).

GOLD SHOES: THE EP
It's crazy how many artists there are, in the Cincinnati area, that I have the pleasure of calling my friends. Gold Shoes are definitely the homies. It seems like it was just yesterday when I would sit in the band space watching them joke around and procrastinate, and somehow they would manage to PRACTICE. Their first big show was at Urban Outfitters. Their performance drew crowds as their songs echoed from the old church structure into the streets of Clifton. Since then, they have been playing at various venues in the Cincinnati area as well as throughout the Midwest. They recently released their first EP, a four track cd, which really expresses some of the same emotions that inspire my clothing. It's just a small sample of their collection, but I really feel like this band is well on their way to making a name for themselves. My favorite track is "Don't". The link is below. Listen for yourself and leave comments.
